The Safe Boating Guide is the recreational boater's 'bible.  Before people request a Courtesy Inspection they should consult the Safe Boating Guide for a list of all the equipment they are expected to have on board - not forgetting the part that advises the requirement for licensed vessels, if not registered, and requirement for a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) and Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) - VHF certificate.  To get a copy contact the Office of Boating Safety at (902) 426-7729.
