Convoy Cup
http://www.convoycup.com/
HONOURING THOSE WHO SERVED The original Convoy Cup races were established in 2002 by the Dartmouth Yacht Club, Royal Norwegian Consulate and the Camp Norway Foundation in Halifax, Nova Scotia. An ocean race, that started and finished in historic Halifax Harbour/Bedford Basin, was held along with the day races and other club events on Bedford Basin, the staging area for the World War II convoys. Now a semi-annual event is held at the DYC with a companion event held at the Wooden Boat Festival in Risor (Norway's Convoy Town) on alternate years. The success and the growth of interest in these events, to commemorate and honour our convoy veterans who served their countries crossing the Atlantic during the Second World War, has been outstanding. There is interest expressed from several countries to hold additional Convoy Cup races.

Petpeswick Yacht Club
http://www.highway7.com/t_places/place_0006_petyacht.html
Petpeswick Yacht Club is open in summer of each year The Petpeswick Yacht Club is a small, family oriented club located on Petpeswick Inlet, some 7 kilometers up a scenic, winding inlet from the Atlantic Ocean. The Club was formed in 1967 by a group of local sailors who were looking for a place to call "Home" for racing Snipes and other non-class boats. Membership fees are kept low so that all can join. The Club grew in popularity and, in 1971, the Provincial, Maritime and Dominion Snipe championship were hosted by Petpeswick. Approximately 35 Snipes from the Atlantic Provinces and Ontario participated in the regatta. Cruising yachts are most welcome, The Club has docking facilities with both electric power and water. If you plan to cruise to Petpeswick, it would be best to phone beforehand [Club phone (902) 889-2896 or call Harvey Doane (902) 889-3281] Be advised that there is a sand bar at the entrance to Petpeswick Inlet which has only approximately 3 feet of water at extreme low tide (the tide range is about 5.5 feet). Plan to cross the bar shortly before high tide. The channel is well marked - keep to the middle
